Indigenous Community In Cambodia | Exploration

This round I’m so proud that I am involving and helping this project that is about the indigenous people who are living in Cambodia. In this exploration, we have been on the trip to the different province such as Kampong Speu and Ratanakiri. We are creating a book for five different indigenous community which is Suoy from Kampong Speu province, Tompuon, Kachok, Jaray, and Kreung from Ratanakiri province. The purpose of creating this book and project because we want to preserve our old ancient tribes and with the aim of wanting readers to explore fascinating stories, tradition, lifestyles, and stories of these people. The trip has been through many challenges which we can call it as the bittersweet memories. We met some communities that are easy for us to interview and some we have to know their language in order to interview them. For me, I think we must respect each other’s right to choose a collective destiny, and the opportunity to develop the rights for Indigenous peoples so that we may enjoy the right to maintain our culture, our heritage, and our land, as a kingdom of Cambodia. I hope that this collection will spread around Cambodia and to the world in the next few years.
